Dress for comfort and fun! Wear weather-appropriate clothes, comfy shoes, and be mindful of our family-friendly dress code.

Attire that is not appropriate (and for which you may be refused entry) includes, but is not limited to: clothing generally considered offensive or clothing with inappropriate words, phrases and/or graphics. For your safety, we strongly suggest shirts and shoes be worn at all times.

No, but don’t worry — our amazing food vendors have you covered with hot eats, sweet treats, and refreshing drinks.

Yes. $5 cash parking is available on-site. Free bike parking is also provided.

Is there a shuttle service?2025-06-23T12:25:08-04:00

No shuttle, but OC Transpo can get you close. Use transit to Findley Creek Plaza, then Uber or taxi to The Fairgrounds.

Yes! We offer wheelchair-accessible portable toilets throughout the site and a family-friendly layout.

Are any mobility items available for rental at The Fair?2025-06-23T12:26:33-04:00

Unfortunately, neither scooter nor wheelchair rentals are available. We recommend you make arrangements with a third-party provider before attending.

Do you offer baby changing areas?2025-06-23T12:26:56-04:00

Yes, a Baby Change facility will be available at The Fair.

Only certified service animals and performing animals are allowed on-site. Service dogs may be asked for certification documents at the Front Gate to gain entry, which may be refused at gate security’s discretion.

Can I leave and come back?2025-06-23T12:27:54-04:00

Unfortunately, in-and-out privileges are not permitted. Please ensure you bring everything you may need, such as a sweatshirt for those cool evenings.

Can I take photos at The Fair?2025-06-23T12:28:45-04:00

Yes! Just be respectful of others. Professional/commercial use requires approval. Guests may be photographed for promotional purposes by authorized photographers from The Capital Fair.

There’s something for everyone at Capital Fair!

Enjoy live music from rising stars, high-energy tribute bands, and a full day of local blues talent during the Capital Fair Blues Revue. Action lovers can catch the thrilling Demolition Derby, show off their skills at the Cornhole Tournament, or witness raw strength at the Armwrestling Championship.

The World’s Finest Shows Midway delivers classic carnival rides and games for all ages, while the Agricultural Tent offers hands-on exhibits, heritage breed livestock, and educational displays for the whole family.

Smoking is not allowed on The Fairgrounds. City of Ottawa bylaws will be enforced. Designated areas are located in the parking lots.

Where can I find lost items?2025-07-08T15:51:46-04:00

Check with The Fair Site Office or call 613-741-3247. You can also contact us though online form and choose “Lost Item” as the subject to help you.

What happens if it rains?2025-06-23T12:32:16-04:00

The Fair runs rain or shine, but outdoor activities may be postponed or cancelled in the event of an electrical storm for the safety of both our performers and visitors. The Fair is not responsible for any schedule changes due to inclement weather.

What behaviour could result in removal from The Fair?2025-06-23T12:39:45-04:00

The Capital Fair is a family-friendly event, and we ask all guests to act respectfully. Guests who demonstrate inappropriate and/or disruptive behaviour, including the following, are subject to removal from the premises:

  • Excessive consumption of alcohol
  • Possession of any weapon or any type of object that could be used as a weapon
  • Possession of illegal drugs
  • Bringing alcohol onto The Capital Fair property
  • Obscene, offensive, or abusive language or actions
  • Fighting, aggressive behaviour, taunting, or threatening remarks or gestures
  • Dangerous, abusive, profane, or illegal behaviour
  • Unruly or inconsiderate behaviour
  • Indecent exposure or undressing
  • Wearing obscene or indecent clothing
  • Smoking in a non-designated smoking area
  • Interfering with security procedures
  • Interfering with the progress of any event or attraction
  • Selling or distributing merchandise on The Capital Fair property without prior approval
  • Rehashing / scalping tickets on The Capital Fair property without prior approval
  • Possession of any items deemed unreasonable for a public event
  • Other conduct beyond reasonable behaviour for guests attending a family-oriented event

Credit and debit cards are accepted at the Front Gate. Each vendor has their own policies regarding acceptable methods of payment. There are ATMs available on site.

Are there any gate or midway deals?2025-07-08T15:53:45-04:00

Midway all-day discount bracelets are on sale online for $40.00, plus fees but, including HST, at the World’s Finest Show’s website. This discount offer expires on Thursday, August 14th at 11:59pm. Regular bracelets at The Fair are $50.00 including HST, so we highly recommend purchasing the discounted bracelets here.

Are there any special discounts or deals for Capital Fair’s 50th anniversary?2025-08-18T13:19:55-04:00

Yes! To celebrate 50 incredible years of Capital Fair, we’ve rolled out exclusive anniversary offers, on top of the midway early bird deal:

  • Monday, August 18: All gate admissions at a discount — Adults $7, Kids $3 (Regular: $15 / $7)
  • Tuesday, August 19: Get a 4-hour ride bracelet (valid from 3–7pm or 7–11pm) for only $25.
  • Wednesday, August 20: Flat-rate $10 admission for adults and $40 unlimited ride bracelets.

Yes. All riders, including chaperones, need either a bracelet or sufficient tickets.

Unless paused for weather or safety maintenance, yes — all rides and attractions will operate. If you’re curious about Midway Ride restrictions, click here.

No, midway rides are not included in general admission and require separate bracelets or tickets.
